Septic pumping calculator: how often, and what it costs in OKC

Pick your tank size and how many people live in the home. The calculator shows a suggested number of years between pumpings and the published pumping price range for the Oklahoma City metro. It is an estimate, not a quote.

Nothing you enter here is sent anywhere until you choose to use the quote form.

Where these numbers come from

The interval comes from the Penn State estimate of years between pumpings, which assumes no garbage disposal (Penn State table, reproduced by the Indian Health Service). The same table is on our how often to pump page. A garbage disposal adds solids, so if you use one heavily, pump sooner than the table says.

The price range is the span of published OKC prices on our septic costs page: $275 to $450 from SepticSeeker Oklahoma City and $300 to $600 for a 1,000 to 1,500 gallon tank from NeedSeptic Oklahoma City. SepticSeeker also notes that a full cleaning can cost 20 to 40 percent more than a standard pump-out.

What the calculator cannot know

It cannot see how much sludge is in your tank, how hard the lid is to reach, or whether your system is aerobic. EPA recommends a professional inspection at least every 3 years, and says alternative systems with pumps or floats, like aerobic units, generally need a yearly check (EPA: How to care for your septic system). Measuring sludge and scum is the real test, so use the interval as a reminder, not a schedule.

If drains are slow, the alarm is going, or you see wet spots or smell sewage in the yard, do not wait for the interval. Ask for service now. If sewage is backing up into the house, call a septic company directly.

Sending your estimate

The button under your result opens our quote form with the service, your town, ZIP and the price range already filled in. You add your name and phone. We are an independent guide, not a septic company, and we pass the request to a local company.
